Great place to feed ducks and park, we had pram and didn't get to walk round as too many steps.
Great park in Darwen just down off the moor, with good access to The Tower. Good sized play area for kids and a number of sculptures. Brilliant for a quiet wooded valley stroll or practice bike riding in the lower part of the park. Worth taking bread for the ducks or nuts for the squirrels.
Nice to walk round interesting wild life and a good children's play area close to Darwen town centre.
The most beautiful park I have seen. A hidden idyll
I have visited this park twice, with a long gap in between visits. The park was just as lovely as I remember. It has many natural features - a small lake, a stream, a pretty waterfall, wooded areas and hills - together with more formal planting and an adventure playground. Walking up through the park and then continuing upwards will eventually lead to the monument (visible from Darwen) with fantastic views. The park is a lovely place for a picnic and can be enjoyed for hours.
